communications technology, today announced that it has established a world class laboratory for
the commercial development of its quantum cryptographic technology.
QuintessenceLabs leads the world in 2nd generation quantum cryptography technology that can
protect information in transit with true end-to-end, real-time, one-time pad encryption. Products

Winners of the prestigious Eureka Prize, QuintessenceLabs‟ unique team combines world class
quantum physicists and security engineers. The new quantum optics laboratory will provide the
scientific and engineering teams with the requisite facilities to continue development of the
company‟s high performance quantum cryptographic system. The laboratory is equipped with stateof-the
art optics and electronics, and it is expected soon to be a node on the extensive fibre optic
networks that are deployed across the Australian Capital Territory. The company‟s quantum
cryptographic system is slated to enter field trials in mid-2009.
